Customer story

How Safiyaa turned abandoned carts into a record sales month

Safiyaa sells one-to-one. Its abandoned carts sat in Shopify where the sales team could not easily get at them. Beya put them in front of the team, and re-engagement became part of how they sell.

Safiyaa makes luxury occasionwear to order, with showrooms in Mayfair and on the Upper East Side. Much of its selling is one-to-one: stylists and a sales team working with clients on a piece, a fitting, a customisation.

That kind of selling runs on relationships, and the online store was producing a signal the relationships could use. Clients were building carts on the site and leaving them. Each one was a client with a piece in mind, a size chosen, and a reason to be contacted by someone who could help.

The problem

The carts sat in Shopify. The people selling did not live in Shopify, and getting at abandoned-cart information meant someone pulling it, cleaning it, and passing it along. Before Beya, Safiyaa’s communication platforms were fragmented, and putting Shopify data next to them meant custom integrations and developer hours just to see basic insights.

So the signal mostly went unused. The recovery sequence did what sequences do. The sales team did not see the carts at all.

What changed

Beya connected Shopify and Safiyaa’s communication tools, without custom integrations, and put every abandoned cart in front of the sales team with the client and the pieces attached. Re-engaging those clients stopped being a data exercise and became part of how the team sells: a client with a piece in her bag is a client to call.

After adopting Beya, Safiyaa had a record sales month.

In their words

“Beya’s our secret weapon right now, but I’d honestly recommend Beya to any D2C or SMB dealing with fragmented tools and the integration headaches that come with them.”

Arujin Selvanathan, Head of Central Operations, Safiyaa

The play

Safiyaa’s version of the abandoned-cart play is the one in our abandoned-cart follow-up playbook: the carts worth a person, in front of the person, in the channel the client already uses. What Beya added was the list arriving on its own, with the context attached, and the follow-up ready to approve.

Ask Beya:

Which clients abandoned a cart this week, and which of them have bought from us before?
